TOBACCO FREE AMARILLO PRESENTS . . . . . . CRAZY MAY MUSIC FESTIVAL

From 12 to 4 p.m. May 11, 18 bands and individual performers comprised of area high school students will compete in the Crazy May Music Festival at Sam Houston Park on Line Avenue & Western Street. The winner's music will be played on Amarillo College's KACV-FM 90 radio. Free door prizes will include two tickets to the Britney Spears concert in Lubbock. The free festival is open to the public.

Types of music to be performed include contemporary Christian, Christian metalcore, country, rock, heavy metal, heavy metal/rock, rock n' roll and punk rock. Various community/civic organizations will have informational booths available, and students will have an opportunity to learn about the dangers of tobacco use.

Funded by Amarillo Hospital District from tobacco settlement money, TFA is a comprehensive tobacco cessation program with activities involving the community, schools, media, cessation, law enforcement and evaluation that are carried out by about 30 partner organizations.
